Friday Favs? Twice in one week?

How was your week everybody? Mine was crazy and a mix of flying by because I had too much to get done, and dragging on/never ending. It is finally Friday and in typical fashion with the rest of this week, nothing is going exactly as planned. This post was all written 3 hours ago, and then magically disappeared. Not cool wordpress. I also planned on having an nice oatmeal breakfast, and then it all blew up in the microwave. I know sad story. So some cheer up, my favorite things this week.

1. My travel season for work is finally over!

Yes, I do enjoy travel season when it starts. What is there to not like about free food, free gas, and free rental car? About 3 weeks into it though you get a little tired of it. There are only so many times you can eat at panera to use their wifi in the downtime, and so many times you can wake up at 5:30 a.m. to visit a high school and not get home till 10:30 p.m. from your last fair. I’m happy to be back in the office working on applications, events, and the regular craziness that is an admissions department. Oh and a fun fact, for you law and order svu fans out there, next weeks episode was filmed at the college.

2. Personality tests!

Disc! Credit.

Keeping in the work trend, this past week I had to take a personality test for work. I’ve taken them before in my personality psychology class in college, but this one was a little different. I had fun with it though and wasn’t all that surprised with what it told me. For the most part it was dead on for how I am in work and etc. Some highlights:

  • Results Oriented
  • Not afraid to question things
  • Expect competency from others
  • Have little patience
  • Need control
  • Competitive with task on hand
  • Have a stubborn streak
  • Enjoys independence

That’s me! It was a lot of fun, so go try it out.

3. Oiselle!

Yay! They have arrived! Best email ever!

I was in the process of starting my Christmas/Birthday wishlist yesterday and this company has plenty that I love. I could not have been more excited to get the email about their famous “rundies” being back in stock in new colors. I immediately forwarded the email to Paul and politely informed him this was a must for my birthday or Christmas. The trials hoodie has also been on my list for a while. Hopefully Santa (aka my mom or Paul) will be nice and these gifts will magically appear under my non-existent tree this Christmas.

4. Skinny Bitch

They also have a book called skinny bastard, which is also at my house. Credit

I bought this book when I was a senior in college and just started running. I thought it might help me with the eating side of things. I wasn’t the best at what to eat/not to eat. I started reading it but really wasn’t ready to do/change anything. Cutting out dairy at the time was a no and cutting out meat just seemed silly. I tried it sophomore year of college and gained weight. So I stopped reading it and moved on. During the unpacking process, Paul and I finally got all our books out on a bookshelf so we finally know what we have. I pulled it out to read two days ago and am done with it already. I’ll give a full review of it next week, but I was definitely ready for what was coming this time around, and accepted a lot of what it had to say. Spoiler, the parts about no coffee I have not accepted.

5. My friends and family are so much cooler than yours.

It’s blurry, that’s cool

Whether they are sending me cards for moving in to my new apartment or sending me invites to their babies baptism (Ben’s already 5 months!), my friends are always making me happy. It’s tough when they don’t all live next door to you (or even within 4 hours of you), but when I get to see them it is always the best! My family is also out being just as awesome. My brother, the one who was stuck from the hurricane and still managed to find time to volunteer and help others that were in trouble during it, yeah he also just wrote an article with work that was published. I know, I told you he’s awesome. I’m very proud of him, and the article is a really good read, so go check it out!

That’s all for this week! I hope you all have a great weekend! Relax and Run time for me!

Happy Friday everyone!
